Engage Mobile Selects Winner for Knacktive Program at Northwest Missouri State University

Engage Mobile had the unique opportunity to work closely with Northwest Missouri State University (NWMS) for the last 4 months as part of their Knacktive program. Knacktive is an advanced, undergraduate, course/agency experience at NWMS. The elective course is designed to replicate the creative demands and intense teamwork atmosphere of a technology-oriented, professional marketing communications agency. The program selects one client per year – and Engage Mobile was selected as their 2015 client.

What does that mean? It means that for the last 4 months Engage Mobile had 32 of Northwest’s brightest students and 5 of their professors working directly with us to determine high potential products and markets. The students were bright, the professors were very helpful and engaged, and the experience was outstanding for Engage Mobile.

The 32 students chosen for the highly selective program were broken into four teams of eight students. Each team included students to fill the traditional roles of an agency – from project manager to media manager to designers. Engage Mobile worked closely with the teams and faculty throughout the process – providing feedback and insight.Team Ghost Hawks

Last Saturday over a five hours period, each team pitched the owners of Engage Mobile their final concepts and plans – the market, product, branding, marketing plan, promotion plan, etc. – each team developed a comprehensive campaign and brand for Engage Mobile.

Yesterday, each of the four teams presented an abbreviated version of their pitches to a packed house at the student union and Engage Mobile was on hand to select the winner.

Each team spent a lot of time on the project and they had a tremendous amount of passion – it was pretty incredible. In the end, we picked the team that chose the best markets, did the most market research and had the most innovative marketing approach – team Ghost Hawks. (they each picked their own name)
